Variable Speed Blower:
Hydro-Temp redefines comfort and efficiency by incorporating GE ECMTM
Blower Motor Technology in our equipment. These systems feature: more
even temperatures, better indoor air
quality, precise humidity control, quieter operation and lower utility
bills.

Features
and Benefits of the ECM 2.3
- Ultra-high efficiency
ECM 2.3 efficiencies are as high as 82%. At full load the ECM 2.3 is
20% more efficient than a standard induction motor. At low speed the
ECM is over 30% more efficient than a standard induction motor. On
constant fan speed, the ECM consumes 60-80 Watts as compared to 400
watts for the induction motor. What's more, its permanent magnet, DC
design allows it to maintain its efficiency over its wide speed
range.
- Self regulating constant airflow
Unlike a conventional blower motor, which is designed to operate at
one speed, the GE ECM variable -speed motor can run in a wide range
of speeds. That's important because blowers need to adjust speed to
deliver the airflow needed by the system. GE's patented constant
airflow technology can be programmed to deliver constant airflow
into a wide range of external static pressures in an air
distribution system. This is all accomplished without the use of
external sensors. Some benefits of constant airflow: precise air
flow for multi stage equipment, improved air distribution throughout
the static pressure range, improved indoor air quality with the use
of high efficiency air filters and low speed constant fan operation
which not only saves money but lessens the temperature
stratification that can be common in multilevel homes.
- Low Audible noise
The most frequent praise given ECM powered systems by customers is
how quiet they are. The GE patented resilient rotor construction
effectively eliminates noise transmitted through the shaft. The
ECM's ability to be programmed to slowly ramp up to speed eliminates
the abrupt change in sound found when an induction motor HVAC system
cycles on and off. Hydro-Temp comfort systems are designed to take
advantage of the ECM's low speed efficiency at first and second
stage operation and continuous fan speeds, further reducing audible
noise.
